SBI Card Flipkart 10% Discount Offer 2026: Which Credit Cards Are Excluded?

Offer period: 28 October–10 November 2026 | Expires at 11:59 PM on 10 November

Offer Validity & Expiry Notice: This festive promotion is valid from 28 October 2026 through 11:59 PM on 10 November 2026. If you are reading this article after 10 November 2026, these promotional 10% instant discounts and refresh cycles have expired, subject to any officially confirmed extension announced by SBI Card and Flipkart. Ongoing card terms, fees, and standard reward programmes—such as the Cashback SBI Card's permanent 5% online cashback—remain active as evaluated.

Flipkart's latest SBI Card festive promotion promises a 10% instant discount. But if you hold the popular SBI Cashback, Eternal SBI or Paytm SBI Credit Card, you won't get it.

Even the Flipkart SBI Credit Card is excluded from the main 10% offer. Instead, it has a separate 5% promotion with different limits.

And for eligible SBI cards, 10% doesn't necessarily mean ₹4,000 off a ₹40,000 purchase. The discount depends on the product category, payment method and applicable cap.

We checked SBI Card's official October–November 2026 offer terms. Here's what shoppers actually need to know before paying.

Which SBI Credit Cards Qualify for Flipkart's 10% Offer?

The restriction is based on the actual card product, not simply whether SBI Card issued it.

For example, an SBI Card SimplyCLICK holder may qualify for the main offer, while an SBI Cashback Card holder cannot.

And the Flipkart SBI Card doesn't receive 10% simply because the purchase is being made on Flipkart.

The 10% Discount Has Different Caps for Different Categories

The promotional base offer is not identical across all purchases.

CategoryMinimum purchaseBase offer
Mobiles₹4,99010%, capped at ₹1,000 on full payment
Mobiles on 3/6-month EMI₹4,99010%, capped at ₹1,250
Mobiles on 9-month or longer EMI₹4,99010%, capped at ₹1,500

Official discount refresh dates: SBI Card's terms establish periodic discount refreshes across the promotional window on 29, 30, 31 October and 1, 6 November 2026. Cardholders who reach their category caps early in a cycle can utilize the discount again once the allowance refreshes on these specific dates, subject to the overall campaign ceiling.

The offer also has separate product-specific bonuses. So a product may show more than the base discount, but that additional saving shouldn't be assumed unless it appears on its offer page.

How Much Can You Actually Save?

Let's test five realistic purchases.

1. ₹4,000 purchase

For an ordinary electronics or appliance purchase, no main 10% discount applies because the minimum transaction value is ₹4,990.

But category matters.

A qualifying ₹4,000 Lifestyle purchase could receive ₹400 off. Grocery may qualify for the separate flat ₹150 discount, while a qualifying Minutes purchase may receive ₹100.

So don't assume every purchase below ₹4,990 is automatically excluded from every festive promotion.

2. ₹5,000 purchase

For a qualifying product in the standard 10% category:

Quick calculation

₹5,000 × 10% = ₹500 instant discount

The customer pays ₹4,500.

At this value, the normal category cap doesn't reduce the 10% benefit.

However, the product must actually display the SBI Card offer. Simply reaching ₹5,000 isn't sufficient.

3. ₹15,000 smartphone

The advertised 10% works out to ₹1,500.

But the full-payment mobile cap is ₹1,000.

Actual base discount: ₹1,000 Effective discount: 6.67%

The shopper pays ₹14,000 before any unrelated offers or charges.

A qualifying EMI purchase may get a higher base discount, depending on the tenure. But EMI interest, processing fees and GST must be included before deciding whether that option is cheaper.

4. ₹40,000 appliance

The headline 10% suggests ₹4,000 savings.

That's not the base offer.

For an eligible appliance purchased through a full-payment transaction:

  • 28–31 October: ₹1,500 base discount
  • 1–10 November: ₹1,250 base discount

Those represent effective discounts of 3.75% and 3.13%, respectively.

Additional promotional bonuses may improve the result.

For example, SBI Card lists bonus tiers at ₹24,990 and ₹34,990, but the applicable bonuses depend on the product and the offers shown at checkout.

Don't assume every ₹40,000 appliance receives all advertised bonuses.

5. What if you have a Flipkart SBI Credit Card?

Flipkart SBI receives a separate 5% instant-discount promotion, not the main 10%.

For selected mobiles, large appliances and electronics, the minimum transaction is ₹4,990 and the instant discount is capped at ₹500.

That means:

PurchaseEligible SBI card: main base offerFlipkart SBI: separate offer
₹5,000 mobile₹500₹250
₹15,000 mobile₹1,000₹500
₹40,000 large appliance, 28–31 Oct₹1,500₹500
Scroll horizontally to view every column.

These comparisons exclude additional festive bonuses and any ordinary card cashback.

The separate Flipkart SBI offer also provides other-category tiers with different caps, including up to ₹2,000 at the qualifying spending level. Check the product's specific offer instead of applying the electronics cap to everything.

There's More Than Just the Base Discount

SBI Card has announced seven additional bonus tiers for eligible purchases, beginning at ₹16,990 and extending to ₹99,990.

For example, the published bonus structure includes ₹500 for eligible transactions of ₹24,990 and above and another listed ₹500 tier for select products costing ₹34,990 and above.

The bank says base and qualifying bonus offers can be additive.

The maximum combined promotional discount across the entire offer period is ₹48,000 per card, including a separate ₹37,500 overall limit for bonuses.

Those are campaign-wide ceilings, not amounts that an ordinary shopper can expect from one purchase.

The important detail is that bonuses depend on the eligible product and offer configuration. Verify the actual amount shown before paying.

The Hidden Catch: SBI Card Can Forfeit Your Reward Points

This is one restriction worth reading carefully.

SBI Card's festive-offer terms say that reward points earned on qualifying promotional transactions will be forfeited.

The condition is particularly relevant to eligible non-EMI purchases, where the card would otherwise earn ordinary reward points.

The terms also allow SBI Card to recover the equivalent value from the card account if the customer doesn't have enough reward points available when forfeiture is processed.

For instant-discount offers, forfeiture can happen within 120 days from the end of the offer month.

That means a shopper may see reward points credited initially, only for SBI Card to reverse them later.

The terms explicitly exempt the separate Flipkart SBI Credit Card promotion from this reward-point forfeiture provision.

Does losing reward points make the 10% offer unattractive?

Usually not, provided the full discount is genuinely available.

Suppose an eligible card would otherwise give ₹100 worth of usable rewards on a purchase, but the festive offer gives ₹1,000 instant discount.

Even after losing ₹100 in ordinary rewards, the customer is effectively ₹900 ahead.

But this calculation depends on the card's actual reward value.

Don't count both the full instant discount and normal reward points unless the bank's terms explicitly permit it.

Paying Through RuPay Credit Card UPI? The Offer Won't Apply

There is another easy mistake to make.

The festive terms specifically exclude RuPay credit-card transactions made through UPI.

So holding an eligible SBI RuPay credit card does not mean every payment method qualifies.

  • Direct card payment: Eligible where the card and product satisfy the offer.
  • Credit-card EMI: Eligible under the relevant category and tenure rules.
  • RuPay credit card through UPI: Excluded from the promotion.
  • Cash on Delivery: Also excluded, including orders later converted from COD to prepaid.

Choose the correct credit-card payment method during checkout and confirm the displayed instant discount.

If the promotion is missing, don't assume SBI Card will provide it after the transaction.

Should SBI Cashback Cardholders Be Disappointed?

Not necessarily.

The SBI Cashback Credit Card is excluded from the festive 10% offer, but its regular cashback programme still matters.

SBI Card currently offers 5% cashback on eligible online purchases, subject to a ₹2,000 online cashback cap per statement cycle since 1 April 2026.

It excludes certain spending categories, including gift cards, utility payments, insurance, rent and others.

For ordinary qualifying Flipkart purchases:

PurchaseRegular SBI Cashback at 5%Eligible SBI card festive base discount*
₹5,000₹250₹500
₹15,000 smartphone₹750₹1,000
₹40,000 appliance₹2,000₹1,500 or ₹1,250
Scroll horizontally to view every column.

\Full-payment examples before optional bonuses and any reward forfeiture.*

For a ₹15,000 smartphone, an eligible SBI card getting ₹1,000 instantly is better than ₹750 regular cashback, before considering any rewards forfeiture.

But for a ₹40,000 appliance, SBI Cashback could deliver ₹2,000 in regular cashback — more than the festive offer's base discount.

If the eligible SBI card receives additional bonus discounts, the result could reverse.

That's why checking both payment options matters more than choosing whichever advertisement shows the bigger percentage.

The Cashback SBI Card's regular 5% is also subject to its ₹2,000 online statement-cycle cap, so customers who have already earned cashback elsewhere in the same cycle may receive less.

What Happens if You Cancel or Return an Order?

SBI Card's terms say a returned order can lose eligibility if the remaining purchase value falls below the minimum required for the promotion.

The discount can then be adjusted against the refund.

If an order is cancelled, the promotional allowance may take up to 24 hours to refresh for another purchase.

Don't repeatedly cancel and reorder assuming the discount will instantly become available again.

What to Check Before Paying

Before placing a Flipkart order, check:

  • Is your exact SBI credit-card variant eligible?
  • Does the product page actually show the SBI offer?
  • Have you crossed the correct category minimum?
  • What is the maximum discount for full payment versus EMI?
  • Does your purchase qualify for a bonus offer?
  • Will ordinary reward points be forfeited?
  • Is the discount reflected in the final payable amount?

If the price is lower on a different card after accounting for normal cashback, reward forfeiture and EMI charges, use that card instead.

CardRecommend Verdict

SBI Card's October–November Flipkart offer can be worthwhile, but the 10% headline tells only part of the story.

For eligible shoppers making purchases around ₹5,000, the full 10% base discount can be genuinely useful.

At higher transaction values, category-specific caps become more important. A ₹15,000 smartphone receives only ₹1,000 base discount on a full-payment transaction, while a ₹40,000 appliance may receive ₹1,250–₹1,500 before bonuses.

The biggest catch is the combination of excluded card variants, category caps and reward-point forfeiture.

SBI Cashback, Eternal SBI and Paytm SBI don't qualify for the main promotion. Flipkart SBI gets a separate 5% offer, and RuPay credit-card UPI transactions are excluded regardless of which eligible card you hold.

Our recommendation: Use an eligible SBI card when its final instant discount clearly exceeds the cashback or rewards available on your other cards.

But don't automatically reject SBI Cashback. On a high-value eligible online purchase, its regular 5% cashback may be more rewarding than the capped festive base discount.

And don't choose EMI merely to unlock an extra discount without calculating the financing costs.

The best card is the one showing the lowest genuine final cost at checkout — not necessarily the one advertising 10%.

The offer expires at 11:59 PM on 10 November 2026 (subject to any subsequent official extension). These are temporary promotional benefits, not permanent SBI Card reward changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which SBI credit cards are excluded from Flipkart's 10% instant discount?

The Cashback SBI Card, Eternal SBI Card, and Paytm SBI credit cards are excluded from the main 10% festive discount. The Flipkart SBI Credit Card is also excluded from the 10% offer, but receives a separate 5% instant discount promotion.

Do RuPay credit card UPI payments qualify for Flipkart's SBI Card discount?

No. The official offer terms explicitly exclude RuPay credit card transactions made via UPI apps. To receive the instant discount, you must enter card details directly on Flipkart for a card swipe/online payment or select eligible credit card EMI.

Why is the discount on a ₹15,000 mobile purchase only ₹1,000 instead of 10%?

The mobile category has a specific per-transaction discount cap of ₹1,000 on full-payment purchases (and ₹1,250–₹1,500 on select EMI tenures). While 10% of ₹15,000 is ₹1,500, the applicable cap restricts the maximum instant discount to ₹1,000.

Will SBI Card forfeit regular reward points on promotional Flipkart purchases?

Yes. SBI Card's festive terms state that standard reward points earned on promotional transactions will be forfeited or debited within 120 days from the end of the offer month. However, the separate Flipkart SBI Credit Card promotion is exempt from this forfeiture.

Is SBI Cashback Card better than the 10% festive discount on large purchases?

It can be. For example, on an eligible ₹40,000 appliance purchase, the festive offer caps the base discount at ₹1,500 (or ₹1,250 from 1 Nov). The Cashback SBI Card provides a flat 5% cashback (₹2,000, which is its monthly online cap), delivering higher total savings if you do not qualify for festive bonus tiers.

When does the Flipkart SBI Card festive discount offer end?

The promotional offer is valid from 28 October 2026 until 11:59 PM on 10 November 2026. Note that on 1 November, the base full-payment discount cap on general categories falls from ₹1,500 to ₹1,250.
